Spaniard Gerard Romero, the transfer market expert in Europe, who is close to Barcelona, blew a major surprise related to the future of Argentine Lionel Messi, the star of Paris Saint -Germain.
Messi's contract with the Parisian team ends at the end of the current season, but his contract contains a item on the possibility of extending an additional season, if the two parties agree.
"Messi does not intend to renew his contract with Paris Saint -Germain," Romero wrote, through his official Twitter account.
He added: "Messi won the World Cup (Qatar 2022), made him change his thinking about his future."
Messi led Argentina to achieve the World Cup title, for the third time in history, after beating France in the final match with a penalty shootout (4-2).
Messi's name was recently linked to a move to play in the Arab region, from the Saudi Crescent Gate, or Inter Miami.
Messi joined Paris Saint -Germain, in the summer of 2021, coming from Barcelona, in a free transfer deal.
