Xavi: We may get our loaned player back in January

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has opened the door to the possibility of signing one of the club's loan players during the upcoming winter transfer market, despite the difficult economic situation.

In a press conference today, Monday, on the eve of the match against Mallorca in the seventh round of the Spanish Football League, Xavi said: “The possibility of Brazilian striker Vitor Roque joining next January exists.”

The 18-year-old Brazilian striker, who currently plays for Atletico Paranaense, left his team's match against Internacional last Friday due to an ankle injury that will keep him out of action for about 8 weeks.

Although his injury did not inspire optimism at first, in the end he will not undergo surgery, and in this regard, the Barca coach said: “I spoke with the doctors. He will not need surgery and will undergo treatment until he recovers well.”

Barcelona announced that Roque, who joined the Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense, will join the team starting in the 2024/2025 season, with his contract extending until the 2031/2030 season.
